Art Through Drawing (7th-11th)
In this class, students can expect to start with the basics of drawing with lots of fun exercises and tools to begin building drawing skills. All levels are welcome. Students will spend time creating a personal, handmade sketchbook at the beginning of the year that they will use throughout the year. Students can anticipate using pencil, charcoal, wet media and colored pencils while creating from life and images throughout the year. Students can anticipate about 1 hour of practice work per week outside of class working in their sketchbooks and on class projects. All supplies for in-class assignments are included. A medium-sized drawing board with clip (not included) is highly recommended, but not required.
REQUIREMENTS
Copy/Supply fee: $45.00 (paid to Julie Ann Abell at Orientation or at the first class attended)
Tuition fee: $400 ($40/month for 10 months, August-May)

ABOUT TEACHER
Julie Ann Abell
B.F.A. and M.Ed. in Secondary Education
Julie Ann grew up in the D.C. area where she earned a B.F.A. and then an M.Ed. in Secondary Education. She is a 3 x National Board Certified Teacher and holds a VA teaching license. She taught for 9 years before relocating to Midlothian, VA to raise her family. Julie Ann has three children- 2 sons in college and a daughter here at Bridge Academy. Julie Ann is an active member of Parkway Baptist and loves to volunteer throughout the community. In her free time you can find her teaching fitness classes and CPR classes, kayaking, hiking, backpacking and camping.
