English 4: Writing & Grammar
In English 4, students will practice and apply both grammar and writing skills. Utilizing the BJU English 4 book, class time will fluctuate between learning grammar, usage, and mechanics and practicing the writing process in various types of writing. Additionally, students will alternate weekly between strengthening their reading comprehension and their sentence structure as they engage in reading selections provided and journaling with prompts. (2025-2026)
REQUIREMENTS
Required Text: English 4 Student Worktext, 3rd ed.
Copy/Supply Fee: $40 (paid directly to Emerald Soldan at Orientation or first class attended)
Tuition: $365 ($36.50/month for 10 months, August-May)

Emerald grew up in a small town on the peninsula of Virginia. She attended a Christian school k-12th grade and went on to Christopher Newport University to earn her degrees in English and in Teaching. Her marriage to her husband Chris brought her to Richmond. She is a mom of two who both attend Bridge Academy. She has always had a love of helping others learn and always knew she would be an educator in some capacity. Before becoming a mom, Emerald taught Kindergarten and Second grade at Banner Christian. She has been a homeschool mom for 5 years and thoroughly enjoys the homeschool life.
