History 3
In this course, students will learn all about ancient civilizations and cultures, including ancient Egypt and Greece, the Hebrew nation, the ancient East and Africa, and the ancient Mediterranean world leading up to the Roman Empire. Using a story-based curriculum, The Story of the World, by Susan Wise Bauer, we will explore the ancient world together, completing journal entries and hands-on activities in class. At home, students will complete maps and review pages that further their knowledge of the ancient world. This course is the beginning of a journey through The Story of the World texts. In this 3rd grade class, we will study Vol. 1, Ancient Times. If your 3rd grader continues on to 4th grade the following year at Bridge, he/she will get to study the next volume in this series, Vol. 2, The Middle Ages. (2025-2026)
