World History I
What does the Bible have to do with ancient civilizations? Who was Alexander the Great and why was he so great? What was the difference between the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire? So many questions and every answer changed the world and affects our lives today. The World History I class will begin at the beginning of history and follow the rise and fall of the ancient empires. After studying the early civilizations, we will move on to the Greek and Roman civilizations. The Byzantine and Islamic civilizations will fascinate the students and then we will head East to discover the Asian and African civilizations before heading back to set up Medieval Europe before the “Great Awakening.” We will cover the first half of the BJU Press World History textbook (4th edition), which allows the students a slower pace for greater understanding.
